FCalc Plus

Editorial policy

This page explains how articles on FCalc Plus are produced and the rules they have to meet.

How articles are written

Articles are drafted with the help of AI writing tools. Since October 2026 every new article is checked by automated rules before it is published, and articles that fail are held back. We use AI to help with structure and drafting, not as a source of facts.

Our rules

  • No invented experience. We don't claim to have personally tested, used or visited something, and we don't make up anecdotes, quotes, testimonials or case studies.
  • No unsourced statistics. A figure must link to where it comes from, or it is left out.
  • Official and primary sources. Where we cite facts we link to official or primary sources, such as government sites, manufacturers and the organisations involved.
  • No placeholders or filler. Unfinished text is never published.
  • On topic. We only publish articles that fit what this site is about, and we avoid publishing near-duplicates of existing articles.
  • A steady pace. We publish a few articles a week at most, so each one can meet these rules.
  • No paid placement. Nobody can pay to be included or recommended in an article.

Older articles

Some articles were published before these rules were introduced. We are reviewing them, and we have already removed articles that contained unfinished text. If you find something that doesn't meet these rules, please tell us.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake or something out of date, please get in touch through our contact page. We correct errors when we are made aware of them.

Who is responsible

Ruth Adeyemi (a pen name), the site's editor, chooses topics, sets these standards and is accountable for what is published on FCalc Plus.

How we use AI

Articles are researched and drafted with AI assistance. We use AI tools for research, summarising and first drafts, not as a source of facts. Every factual claim in a published article should trace back to a source we link to, and articles are checked by automated quality rules before publication. Articles that fail are not published.

Sources

We prefer primary sources: official guidance, regulators, manufacturers, research and the organisations involved. When we rely on someone else's reporting, we name and link to it. Figures without a source are left out.

Dates on articles

Each article shows when it was first published. An "Updated" date appears only when the article's content changes, not when the site is redesigned.

Conflicts of interest

Nobody can pay to be included, ranked or recommended. If an article ever covers a product we earn a commission on, we say so clearly in the article.
